Performance Experience
Bob Croft is a highly experienced performer who has played in numerous bands in the Denver metro area for the last 20+ years. He has been in bands that have opened for national acts including Reba McEntire, Michael Martin Murphy, Kenny Loggins, John Denver, Lou Rawls, and others. Currently he is performing with the Pat Emerine Project.
Compositional Experience
- Bob Croft is also the published author of the book, "Reading Chops for Guitarists" which is a specialized guitar instruction text that has sold hundreds of copies throughout the USA.
- Bob is also a published composer and sound designer having held the position of Senior Composer for Brown Bag Productions (Part of Premiere Radio Network) for 17 years. Currently he is the principal composer for High Definition Music which is featured extensively on the CBS News program 48 Hours. His work can also be heard in HBO's Inside the NFL, as well as in promos for well known TV shows such as American Idol, The Simpsons, 24, ER, Law & Order, and many others.
What is Covered in my Lessons
I teach fundamental musical skills and apply them to whatever kind of music the student is into. I specialize primarily in electric guitar styles such as Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Country, Pop etc. he teaches music theory and improvisation, how to read music (standard musical notation, chord symbols, rhythmic notation, TAB) , ear training, and address a wide variety of playing techniques in a thorough and musical manner. I also teach numerous acoustic guitar techniques as well.
I'm also a highly experienced music transcriptionist. Capable of doing note for note transcriptions as well as adaptations or arrangement to suit the level of the individual student.
